Japanese Day

At our school our LOTE (language other than English) is Japanese. Every year we have a special "Japanese Day" at our school. We have wonderful fun and do lots of activities during the day. There is Japanese food to eat, and we make Japanse fans and origami hats.

To get everyone involved, the whole school tries to dress up as a Japanese person, even the teachers!

Here we are in our kimonos.

We didn't have any Japanese clothes to wear and thought we might have to go in school uniform, but Nanna is clever at sewing and she's very fast. The weekend before Japanese day she made us these great kimonos with sparkly material from Anita's Fabrics, using a pattern off the internet. We were so happy with them and lots of people commented on how great we looked.

And this is the back view. How do you like the butterfly?

Nanna also does bookkeeping for people with small businesses. She's very good at that too, so if your business is in the Ringwood - Ferntree Gully - Lilydale or Yarra Glen areas and you need help with your paperwork please visit her web site, Unicorn Bookkeeping and she will be really happy as well.
